How to clean a stainless steel frying pan

We love steel pans for their durability, but they can look a little grubby with not too much difficulty. Whilst your steel pan doesn't have to look as new to function perfectly, giving it a good clean when it really has stuff caked-on is a must, and in any case, sparkly steel looks lovely, so we wanted to share with you how we do it.

The two key things to our success are Bar Keepers Friend steel cleaner, and elbow grease. Simply add a shaking of the former, add a little warm water, and rub with a steel-wool cleaner a little to mix and form a paste. Then let this sit, for at least 10 minutes. After that, all that's left to do is to get scrubbing with the steel-wool!

A note on scratching: Steel wool will scratch pans. Season Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Pans are made from brushed steel, which doesn't show scratches so much. If you have a polished steel pan, scratches will show. We are of the view that light scratching on a brushed steel pan is preferable to caked-on staining, particularly given the scratching is purely cosmetic. The choice is yours!
