A good pepper mill will grind consistently for longer than a bad one, but how much difference does it make to the taste? Our team of cooks & chefs gathered round and asked ourselves this question, and were pleasantly surprised to find there's an easily noticeable difference in aroma before the seasoned food got anywhere near our lips! This shouldn't be a shock really - the Peugeot mill for example has a patented mechanism that doesn't grate pepper like cheaper models, but crushes each peppercorn all the way down a sort of inverted funnel, to release all the oils. You get what you pay for, and if you're thinking 'This much... for a pepper mill...?', we'd ask you to imagine how many meals will taste better as a result of your investment, and how much it works out at per meal. Bargain!
