Cooking time: 30 minutes

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

Orange Spiced Espresso Martini (per cocktail)

50ml vodka (good quality, neutral)

25ml freshly brewed espresso strong and slightly cooled (warm but not completely cold)

20ml coffee liqueur

15ml orange-spiced syrup (see below)

1 slice orange peel

Ice

Orange-Spiced Syrup (makes ~150ml)

100g caster sugar

100ml orange juice

1 cinnamon stick

1 tsp whole cloves

1 star anise

1 slice orange peel

Method

Orange-Spiced Syrup:

  1. Add sugar and orange juice (1:1 ratio) to a small saucepan and place over medium heat.

  2. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then add the spices.

  3. Simmer very gently for 5 minutes, then remove from heat and add the orange peel.

  4. Cover and let the mixture infuse for 20–30 minutes.

  5. Strain the syrup into a sterilised bottle or container.
  6. Let it cool completely before using to make cocktails. Store in the fridge (You can keep up to 2–3 weeks).

Make Espresso Shot:

  1. Add 18g of coffee beans (adjust depending on how much espresso you need) to the Season Burr Grinder.

  2. Rotate the grinder to the 7/8 setting and press the button. Wait until grinding stops.

  3. Add the freshly ground coffee to the Season Espresso Maker and fill the bottom chamber with water.

  4. Place over heat and bring it to a gentle boil, allowing the espresso to extract fully.

  5. Once brewed, let it cool slightly (warm, not completely cold) before shaking.

Making Cocktail:

  1. Add vodka, coffee liqueur, fresh espresso, and orange-spiced syrup into Season Cocktail Shaker.

  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  3. Shake hard for 15–20 seconds until well chilled and a frothy crema forms.

  4. Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
