The compact S4 Santoku: a 13cm blade for smaller hands, smaller boards and finer work - herbs, shallots, trimming meat, a quick supper for one. The blade is scalloped, so slices do not stick. 67-layer Damascus steel forged around a 10CR core, hardened to 61 HRC. Full tang, triple-riveted rosewood handle, so it feels solid and sturdy in the hand: kitchen knives do not get much tougher.

Three questions people ask
13cm or 18cm? The 18cm does the heavy prep; the 13cm is quicker for small jobs and easier on a small board. Plenty of cooks own both.
Is it a good first knife? If your kitchen is small or you find a 20cm chef's knife daunting, yes. Otherwise start with the S4 Chef's Knife.
How do I keep it sharp? Hone it often and sharpen it on a whetstone two or three times a year. The Season Whetstone (1000 and 6000 grit, £35) does both jobs.

Our preferred couriers DPD will notify you of a one hour time slot on the morning of delivery. If next day delivery (for orders placed before 12pm) does not suit, simply choose a convenient weekday by entering it in Notes at the checkout. Saturday and Sunday delivery are also available for a reasonable
charge (see below for prices).

Returns of incorrect, damaged or defective items
Please contact us on hello@seasoncookshop.co.uk with your order number and what the issue is (a picture sometimes helps where appropriate) and we will help arrange the return of any items that are incorrect, damaged or defective. We will cover our courier cost.
Returns of unwanted items
Unwanted items can be returned to us within 30 days for an exchange or full refund, so long as they are unused and as new, complete with original packaging. Please contact us on hello@seasoncookshop.co.uk with your order number and we will either provide you with return details for you to send it back to or help you send it back using our courier service. The cost of the latter is £7.00, which will be deducted from your refund. Alternatively, we can arrange for your order to be returned to one of our London stores.

A Brilliant knife and certainly looks the part too, i slice tomatoes3mm with ease, I have used a very fine whetstone on two occasions just to bring the edge back. The knife feels well balanced and solid, the only drawback is it is too pretty and I am afraid to scratch it.

Is this knife double bevelled? I'm left handed and can't use single bevelled safely.
Yes, it's double bevelled - sharpened on both sides, at the same angle. It behaves identically in either hand, so there's nothing to adjust for and nothing to compensate against. Single bevels steer; this one doesn't.
