Why a stone beats a bare oven shelf or a thin tray
A home oven has two weak moments: the heat lost opening the door, and the heat cold dough pulls out the instant it lands. Cast iron works as a heat store - it soaks up temperature as it pre-heats and gives it straight back on contact. That's what crisps a pizza base instead of steaming it, and what gets crepes and dosas colouring evenly edge to edge.
Hob, oven, grill
This is the part a ceramic stone can't do. Flat, thin and with two cast-in handles, it works on any hob - induction included - as well as in the oven and on the grill. Dosas and crepes on the hob; pizza, naan and flatbreads in the oven; and it will sit over coals without complaint.
Pre-seasoned, ready to use
It arrives pre-seasoned, so you can cook on it from day one. Kept dry and wiped with a little oil after use, the surface only improves.
