Dense hardwoods with enough give to be kind to a knife edge. Teak is naturally high in its own oils, so it shrugs off moisture rather than soaking it up. Walnut is just as dense, with a deep, dark grain that makes knife marks less obvious. Both come from selective thinning: trees taken to keep the forest healthy, providing decent jobs in a region that needs them. FSC approved.
