There are lots of cheap imitations out there. Rest assured, these Laguiole steak knives are the genuine article.
Based on a hunting knife design that would have originally folded to fit in the pocket, these are fixed designs that have kept the button. Known as La Mouche, French for 'button', but also 'fly', the button is in the shape of a horsefly for easy identification. If you like your steak knives with a bit of character, these are the ones for you.
