Season Burr Coffee Grinder

£35.00 Regular price

Why the burr matters

Same size every time

A blade grinder chops at random and produces a mix of fine dust and coarse chunks. A burr grinder forces the bean through a fixed gap, so almost every particle is the same size. That's what gives you an even extraction - not too weak, not bitter - and the same result every morning.

  • Ceramic burr mechanism

Harder than steel and non-corrosive. Ceramic doesn't heat the coffee during grinding and leaves no metallic trace in the grind.

  • 40 grind settings

From fine espresso (5-10) to coarse cafetière (35-40). Each brew method has a range - start in the middle and move up or down from there.

  • USB-C rechargeable

A single charge handles a week of morning coffee. Cable included. No AA batteries, no running out mid-cup.

Getting the best from it

Grind settings

The collar adjusts the gap between the burrs. Lower numbers are finer; higher numbers are coarser. These are starting points - adjust by a step or two depending on your beans and taste.

10-12
Cafetière / French press Start at 35, go up if you find sediment, down if it tastes weak.
35-40

Go higher up the range for dark roasts.

Grinding spices as well as coffee?

Run a small handful of rice through it between the two. It clears the leftover oils and grounds, so your cumin doesn't turn up tasting of this morning's coffee.

If it slows or keeps stopping partway through

It isn't struggling - it needs charging. A top-up over USB-C brings it back to full speed.

12-month warranty

If anything goes wrong, we'll sort it.

Not sure which grinder?

A burr grinder and a coffee and spice mill look similar but do different jobs. We've explained the difference, so you buy the right one first time.

I am very satisfied with this product. First of all, its aesthetics are a great appeal. It is also very easy to use and clean. Finally, although the grinding process is a little noisy, my husband suffers from hyperacusis and so cannot be near the device, what I particularly like about this coffee grinder is that, once you have pressed the "on" button, you can leave the room because the grinding process conducts itself and once the beans are ground, it stops. This is an added bonus. It is a little slow but this is not a problem at all for me as grinding coffee beans for my mocha pot or French press is an enjoyable part of my day, which allows me to slow down :).

How long does it take for a full recharge?

Season

Around 3.5 hours from flat to full over USB-C.

This sounds like an obvious question but: is it possible to grind whilst connected to the power? (And if not, why not!?)

Season

A fair question - and the answer is no, it’s designed not to run when plugged in. This is due to a built-in safety feature that protects the battery and motor. It’s common in compact, USB-rechargeable appliances like this. To run while charging would require a more complex (and more expensive) internal setup — the kind usually found in larger, plug-in grinders that cost quite a bit more.

Is the only difference between this and the Seasons Burr Coffee Grinder that this one is Stainless Steel and the other one isn't? Or is there some other difference? Thank.

Jason M.

Yes, the only difference is the stainless steel finish - both grinders function the same, but this one has a stainless steel outer casing.
