There seems to be some kind of compartment under the foldable spoon in the recessed lid. What is it meant for?
Yes - there’s a small compartment underneath the foldable spoon. Inside is a pressure-release valve, designed to let steam escape so pressure doesn’t build up. That helps prevent the lid from getting stuck (especially with hot soups and stews).
